Our History - Our Future
About 9 years ago, the Greater Concord Area Task Force Against Racism & Intolerance began coordinating community discussions.
The 2004 discussion, titled "The Changing Face of Concord: Racial, Ethnic & Cultural Diversity," gave birth to this multicultural festival, now in its 6th year.
Nearly everyone involved in the 2004 community discussions recognized the importance of street festivals to the civic life of Concord, and so we decided that a big outdoor party was an ideal way to advance the goals of racial and ethnic tolerance and understanding in our small but quickly changing community.
Now in its 6th year, the Concord Multicultural Festvial is growing steadily, and we hope to see it become another Concord perennial - one of the events you mark on your calendar months in advance and make a point of never missing!
